Description

St. Anthony Regional Hospital, a 99-bed, private, faith-based and financially strong community facility, has an outstanding opportunity for a Director of Women’s Services (due to the retirement of a 37-year employee). Morgan Hunter HealthSearch has been retained to lead this key search.

The hospital serves communities in west central Iowa through a wide array of offerings, including OB, oncology, cardiology, chronic care, dialysis, emergency, home health/hospice, mental health, pain management, sleep center and surgical services (including robotics). In addition, St. Anthony provides senior services to include a 79-bed nursing home, assisted living and an Alzheimer’s unit.

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Patient Care Services, the director will oversee a department featuring 10 LDRP rooms and a staff of 17 FTE’s, who support 400 annual deliveries. The department features its own c-section OR suite and a brand-new mom-baby simulator. The nursing staff is tenured and provides outstanding care as evidenced by high patient satisfaction and quality scores. The relationship with the physician staff (two OB/GYN’s, two pediatricians and 15 family medicine) is very good. The position is administrative in nature but all department leaders are expected to “jump in” when necessary.

Carroll, IA, with a population of over 10,000 and located approximately 80 miles northwest of Des Moines, features miles of trails, two golf courses, a family-friendly aquatic center, outstanding school system, a vibrant retail district, Carroll Brewing Company, Santa Maria Vineyard & Winery and over 30 restaurants. Year-round events and festivals ensure there's always something to do.

Candidates will present with a minimum of five years of OB experience with at least two years in management. Must understand the importance of how community-oriented the organization is and maintain the great patient satisfaction and quality indicators that currently exist. Communication skills, physician relations and a leadership style that builds teamwork is imperative. A BSN is strongly preferred but RN candidates are encouraged to apply (must obtain a BSN within three years of hire).
