Job Summary: Provides professional nursing care and assists the physician with patient visits and procedures.

Qualifications

Minimal Acceptable Job Qualifications

Licensure/Certification: Current Indiana state LPN license required. Current CPR certification required and maintain biannually. ACLS required for Cardiology Practices.

Experience: Two to three year’s experience with physician office operations, billing/coding, staff training, to include use of a personal Medical-based computer system.

Education: Graduate from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) school providing nursing training.
Other:

Knowledge of general policies and procedures of a medical office.

Ability to alphabetize, to perform basic mathematical functions, to demonstrate a working knowledge of medical terminology, CPT-4 and ICD-9 coding, and insurance carrier parameters.

Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of PC-based computer systems, to include word processing and patient accounting software.

Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in the English language.

Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of obtaining and authorizing patient referrals.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines.
