We are looking for a Nurse Practitioner to join our hyperbaric team of Bay Area Hyperbarics in Los Gatos, CA (Northern CA/San Jose area). Maintain an independent outpatient practice without a physician on site to act as an expert resource and provide diagnostic and hyperbaric services for patients in collaboration with or under the clinical supervision of a physician. Responsible for the patient evaluation, interpretation, diagnosis, and prescribing of appropriate hyperbaric medical protocols. Applicant must be a California licensed NP.

Hyperbaric medicine service offers specialized treatment to patients with chronic wounds, tissue damage from radiation, and certain infections. Our team is under the direction of a MD with experience in hyperbaric medicine. Patients are referred from Oral Surgeons, Urologists, Podiatrists and wound care programs, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, Radiation Oncologists, and others. Bay Area Hyperbarics will train the Nurse Practitioner in the specifics of hyperbaric medicine.

Demonstrated high level of clinical proficiency, and excellent decision-making skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as an effective member of a health care team. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to effectively collaborate with and establish/build relationships with others. Proven organizational/managerial skills and ability to prioritize effectively.
Clinical Practice:
Perform patient assessment to obtain a complete and accurate record of the patient's clinical information and medical symptoms in order to determine patient suitability in the hyperbaric chamber environment. Order tests and exams to obtain additional information needed to ensure proper and complete care of patient.

Oversee the treatment provided by the clinical staff, primarily the hyperbaric technicians, including appropriate prescriptive practice to achieve optimal clinical outcomes for the patient.
Appropriate and timely documentation of clinical care. Ensure that records are detailed and complete, complying with related standards and regulations.

Community Education and Marketing
Will build ongoing relationships with local physicians, wound care centers, and hospitals that would be referring their patients for hyperbaric services.

Education:
Stay abreast of current trends in hyperbaric medicine and wound care and participate in continuing medical education to ensure optimal clinical knowledge and effective patient care skill.

Consultation/Collaboration:
Coordinates and collaborates patient care efforts with other care providers.
Communicates clinical information timely, accurately, thoroughly, and appropriately to other providers of patient care.

Shift Details: Monday-Friday 8:30-4:00pm (flexible). No on-call required.
