| Description | Sleep Insights has an immediate opening for a full-time Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant. We are the largest independent sleep medicine practice in Upstate New York, providing adult and pediatric consultative and sleep testing services. Our physicians are board-certified in Sleep Medicine, as well as Neurology and Pulmonology. Our practice encourages people to make sleep a health priority, and embraces an integrated approach to wellness and sleep disorders, recognizing that effective treatment often includes a combination of different therapies. Sleep Insights continually expands therapies offered at our sites, making it as convenient as possible for patients to receive the sleep therapy they need. This position is available part time at our Olean NY location. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: *Analyzes and evaluates patient data, sleep test findings (to diagnose nature or extent of sleep disorder) and to assesses treatments *Initiates referrals for further sleep testing and other specialist consultations, including psychological testing for insomnia as needed *Collaborates with physicians, psychologist or other professionals to discuss treatment plans and progress *Attends and participates in staff meetings *Communicates clearly and accurately with clients, visitors, and colleagues: displaying friendly, helpful behavior *Uses judgment and tact, particularly when communicating sensitive information *Displays sensitivity to the needs of clients, visitors and colleagues, treating everyone with consideration, courtesy and respect *Assists in the education of patients and family members *Provides pharmacologic consultation and intervention, including prescription of medications related to sleep*Evaluates the effectiveness of prescribed medication while considering potential negative side effects *Completes all documentation regarding all assessments in a timely and competent manner.
