Join a dynamic group of 15 advanced practice providers in the Stanford Women's Cancer Center. This is a full time exempt position working 4 days a week in the Stanford Women's Cancer Center (SWCC) clinic. The SWCC APP is part of a team that is transforming cancer care while being committed to the quality of the patient experience. SWCC provides comprehensive care to women from the time of diagnosis, to surgery, treatment, and palliative care. The SWCC APPs participate in a multidisciplinary Tumor Board weekly, play an active role in clinical trial recruitment, hold independent clinic sessions, and work side by side with world renowned physicians and surgeons, to provide cutting-edge patient focused treatments. We are looking for passionate Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants with oncology expertise and a commitment to quality and patient centered care.

Qualifications
Job Description The Nurse Practitioner functions under the general Nurse Practitioner Standardized Process Protocol approved by the Interdisciplinary Practice Committee (IDPC). The Nurse Practitioner provides routine care and management of the patient with acute and chronic complaints, in collaboration with the supervising physician and through implementation of standardized procedures. Specific functions pertaining to the Service, Clinic or Department are established by the Nurse Practitioner and the supervising physician(s), and approved by the appropriate medical and nursing administrators, the IDPC, and the Stanford Hospital and Clinics (SHC) Medical Executive Board and Board of Directors.
Physician Assistant (PA): The Physician Assistant functions under the general Physician Assistant Role Description approved by the Interdisciplinary Practice Committee (IDPC). Specific functions pertaining to the Service, Clinic or Department are established by the Physician Assistant and his or her supervising physician(s), and approved by the appropriate medical and nursing administrators, the IDPC, and the Stanford Hospital and Clinics (SHC) Medical Board and Board of Directors. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Evaluates and treats patients with acute, chronic complaints and health maintenance concerns Obtains complete histories and performs pertinent physical exams with assessment of normal and abnormal findings on new and return patients Performs or requests and evaluates diagnostic studies Administers, orders, furnishes and/or prescribes medications Orders and collects specimens for routine laboratory tests, screening procedures and therapeutic procedures, including blood and blood products Orders physical therapy, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology examinations and nursing services Performs designated procedures after demonstrated competency Obtains informed consent Initiates arrangements for hospital admissions and discharges Effectively communicates and interacts with patients, families, staff and members of the community from diverse backgrounds Recognizes situations which require the immediate attention of a physician, and initiates life-saving procedures when necessary Facilitates the coordination of inpatient and outpatient care and services Facilitates collaboration between providers and coordination of community resources Provides and coordinates patient teaching and counseling.
Nurse Practitioner Qualifications:
Master's or Doctorate Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university is, required.
License/Certification: BLS - Basic Life Support, required. License/Certification: CA Registered Nurse (RN), required.
License/Certification: Certification as a Nurse Practitioner by a nationally recognized nursing organization (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners-AANP, American Nurses Credentialing Center-ANCC, or any successor organizations), required.
License/Certification: DEA - DEA Number from the US Drug Enforcement Administration, required.
License/Certification: NP - Nurse Practitioner, required.
License/Certification: NPF - NP Furnishing Number, required.
License/Certification: Chemotherapy certification, preferred.

Physician Assistant Qualifications:
License/Certification: PA - Possession of a valid certification to practice as a Physician Assistant issued by the California State Board of Medical Quality Assurance.
License/Certification: Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the State of California, required.
License/Certification: BLS - Basic Life Support, required.
License/Certification: DEA - DEA Number from the US Drug Enforcement Administration, required.
License/Certification: Chemotherapy certification, preferred.
