| Description | Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants will operate with a high level of autonomy. In this role, you will provide a comprehensive patient assessment, ordering and interpreting of appropriate laboratory tests and radiologic exams, diagnosis, treatment and management of chemotherapy side effects, and medical co-morbidities. You will be expected to manage side effects and complications from underlying co-morbidities, hematologic disease and therapy, while collaborating with a consultant Hematologist and fellow. You will consult and make referrals to physicians and other members of the health care team as appropriate and coordinate discharge planning. In addition, you will provide educational support to patients and their families. The Hematology hospital practice and Advance Practice Providers are responsible for providing 24/7 care (days/nights/weekends/holidays), additional compensation is provided. |
