The Children’s Hospital at UMMC is a comprehensive division within our hospital that offers service to patients across the spectrum of acute care. Our children’s hospital is comprised of a pediatric ED, pediatric ICU & progressive care unit, a complex labor and delivery unit, a compliment of ambulatory care services, and our newly remodeled 52 bed level IV NICU. UMMC’s clinicians offer the critically ill pediatric patients of Maryland ‘top of the class’ care.

The NNP will be involved in providing complex care to some of the highest intensity, critical care babies in the state. Our facility offers 37,000 square feet of NICU, a specialized transport team, state of the art technologies in our deliver rooms, and more, to help provide care to the critically ill. Come join our multi-disciplinary team of like-minded providers, and care for the critically ill newborns of Maryland.

The neonatal nurse practitioner team at UMMC, provides 24/7 coverage for the patients in the NICU. The NNP is responsible for daily patient management, leadership and resource support for the medical team, and is an educational resource for nursing, medical staff and patient families. Medical plans and decisions are made in collaboration with attending physicians in a manner that utilizes evidence based interventions and current best practice while providing support and education for all team members. The NNP and Neonatal fellow are expected to function in tandem with collaborative roles supporting the patients within the division of neonatology. Additionally, the role of the Neonatal NP has expanded to provide coverage for the neonatal transport team through the Maryland Regional Neonatal Transport Program (MRNTP).

In addition to clinical responsibilities, all NPs participate in professional practice activities at varying levels. Schedule accommodations will be made and negotiated as needed.

We offer a very attractive salary plus a comprehensive benefits package, including generous tuition support program, and relocation assistance. Located in downtown Baltimore, you won’t find a more vibrant place to work and grow.
