PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT (FEE BASIS - COMPENSATION & PENSION)
The James J. Peters VA Medical Center is seeking a highly qualified Physician Assistant to provide fee basis Compensation and Pension (C&P) exams in our Administrative Medicine Department.
The incumbent will be required to review electronic medical records, perform histories and physicals and review laboratory, radiology and any other special studies. The incumbent will be expected to perform Compensation and Pension exams involving general medicine and specialties including, but not limited to Neurology, ENT and GYN, Orthopedics and Dermatology. The incumbent should have experience with SHA (separation health assessment) and IDES (Integrated Disability Evaluation System) exams. Incumbent is expected to meet VA performance standards for timeliness, quality and customer service.
Desired training in VA Compensation and a minimum of 1 year experience in the field preferred.
The James J. Peters VA Medical Center is a tertiary care highly affiliated facility situated on an attractive campus in the north Bronx, serving a Veteran population from the Bronx, Westchester and Rockland Counties, Northern New Jersey, and the New York City metropolitan area. The JJP VA serves as a National Center for Alzheimer's Disease, Schizophrenia and Alcohol Abuse, a Spinal Cord Injury Center, a Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) center, a Geriatric Research Education Clinical Center (GRECC), and a Mental Illness Research Education and Clinical Center (MIRECC). We are closely affiliated with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, the Hospital for Special Surgery, and Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Fee Basis provider will receive compensation per patient exam as appropriate. There are no federal benefits for Fee Basis staff.
