Physician Assistant Orthopedics South Lake Tahoe

The Physician Assistant provides direct patient care within the state and NCCPA scope of practice guidelines at assigned Barton HealthCare System outpatient spine service clinic. Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to identify and meet the individualized needs of an orthopedic population. The Ortho PA is responsible for facilitating and expediting care delivered to patients during their entire episode. This process requires the Ortho PA to have direct contact with the patient, the patient’s family, the patient’s physicians and appropriate health care team members to ensure care coordination.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education

Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant training program which has been accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)

Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

Current California and Nevada licenses or ability to obtain prior to start date

Recent clinical experience as a Physician Assistant with the exception of practitioners who have completed an approved training program within the past year whereby a letter from their program chairman supporting granting of the requested practice prerogatives is required. Recent clinical experience is defined as having performed at least 100 outpatient clinical activities/procedures and/or 30 inpatient clinical activities/procedures during the past two years.

Minimum three years Outpatient Clinic and Urgent Care experience preferred
