Denver Health Medical Center (DHMC), in the heart of thriving downtown Denver, Colorado, is seeking a full-time Trauma & Acute Care Surgeon, who is Board Certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care to join our team.

DHMC is the American College of Surgeons certified Level I Adult Trauma Center affiliated with the University of Colorado. DHMC is also a state certified Level II Pediatric Trauma Center. DHMC offers comprehensive medical, surgical and psychiatric care, as well as emergency, ambulatory and diagnostic services. The DHMC surgical faculty covers all of the emergent surgical, trauma, surgical critical care, and elective surgical needs for DHMC patients.

With 525 licensed beds, DHMC is one of the state’s busiest hospitals with more than 26,000 admissions annually. DHMC was recently recognized by the University Hospital Consortium as having one of the lowest observed to expected mortality rates in the country (Ranked #5 out of 121 academic health centers). As Colorado’s premier safety net institution and academic trauma center, DHMC offers unique clinical and academic opportunities while addressing the needs of our patient population. Our surgical team is nationally renowned for teaching, research and trauma services. DHMC is an affiliate hospital of the University of Colorado School of Medicine, and all DHMC faculty have an academic appointment through the School of Medicine.

The successful candidate must have completed a terminal medical degree (e.g. MD or DO), and be board certified in Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. They will receive an academic appointment at the University of Colorado School of Medicine at an academic rank commiserate with experience.
