Klingberg Family Centers is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner 28 hrs/week to work closely with the with the treatment team working with youth and families in our New Britain and Hartford locations

The APRN would serve children and adolescent clients in our New Britain and Hartford Outpatient Mental Health Clinic, our Child and Adolescent Trauma Services program and our Extended Day Treatment program. Experience working with children and adolescents with significant trauma histories would be a plus. At Klingberg we work closely with the children and adolescent’s family. Experience with family engagement a plus.

Job duties include:
*Provide medication evaluations, emergency assessment, and medication monitoring for children and adolescents.
*Participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team consisting of the psychiatrist, clinicians, program staff, and community resources, in meeting the needs of individuals served.
*Provides comprehensive assessment of clients’ current health and indication for psychopharmacological intervention.
*Prescribe medication in collaboration with the supervision of a psychiatrist.
*Order, receive and review laboratory reports and relevant lab test/ diagnostic procedures.
*Comply with all federal, state, agency, and funding regulatory requirements
*Maintain client confidentiality pursuant to Federal, State, and agency *HIPAA requirements.
*Attend weekly clinical rounds.
*Accurate and timely coordination/completion of assignments as directed by the Medical Director and/ Vice President of Programs.
*Maintain accurate medical records (experience with an EHR is a plus).
*Minimal site to site travel may be required.
*Minimal after hours on-call may be required.

Qualifications:
*Master’s degree from an accredited school of nursing.
*Current licensure as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the State of Connecticut.
*Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children and adolescents in a psychiatric setting or related experience.
*Relevant experience working with, evaluating and prescribing for children and adolescents with mental and behavioral health diagnosis.
